Eye Cancer
Eye cancer refers to cancers that develop in or around the eye. Although it is relatively uncommon, early diagnosis can help preserve vision and improve treatment outcomes.

Common types of eye cancer
Uveal melanoma – The most common primary eye cancer in adults.
Retinoblastoma – A rare eye cancer that mainly affects young children.
Conjunctival squamous cell carcinoma – Develops on the surface of the eye.
Orbital tumors – Cancers that affect the tissues around the eye.
Symptoms
Symptoms depend on the type of cancer but may include
Blurred or reduced vision
Flashes of light or floaters
A dark spot on the iris that enlarges
Bulging of the eye
Eye pain (less common)
A visible lump on or around the eye
White reflection in the pupil (especially in children)

Diagnosis
An ophthalmologist may perform:
Dilated eye examination
Ocular ultrasound
OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography)
Fluorescein angiography
MRI or CT scan if needed
Biopsy in selected cases
Treatment

Treatment depends on the type, size, and location of the tumor:
Laser therapy
Radiation therapy (plaque brachytherapy or external beam)
Surgery
Chemotherapy (commonly for retinoblastoma)
Targeted therapy or immunotherapy in selected cases when to seek medical care
See an eye specialist promptly if you notice:
